BMW X1 Efficient Dynamics consumes 4.5 l/100 km

BMW presented today the X1 Efficient Dynamics version. The BMW X1 Efficient Dynamics crossover guarantees a consumption of 4.5 litres/100 km and offers 163 horsepower.

BMW presented today the newest member of the Efficient Dynamics family. Although the combination of an SUV with an efficient label seemed impossible 10 years ago, BMW was able to provide the public with a model that break patterns, with help from the current X1.

The compact crossover gave up all-wheel drive in favor of rear-wheel drive and chose the services of a 2.0-liter turbodiesel engine. Compared with the series version sDrive20d, the new BMW X1 Efficient Dynamics develops 163 horsepower instead of 177. Torque also reduces from 380 to 350 Nm and is delivered over a range between 1750 and 2500 revolutions.

BMW engineers have introduced for X1 Efficient Dynamics an indicator of changing gear, a start-stop system, a system of energy recovery at braking, electro-mechanical servo, self-adjusting compressor of the air conditioning, low rolling resistance tires, a transmission with a longer last report and aerodynamic Streamline wheels.

Also on Efficient Dynamics version will debut a new soundproofing technology, scheduled to be introduced on all diesel versions of the BMW X1, starting with autumn 2011.

Thanks to the above changes, BMW X1 Efficient Dynamics sDrive20d manages to reduce the medium consumption value with 0.8 litres/100 km and emissions by 20 g/km. Under these conditions, the manufacturer guarantees 4.5 litres/100 km and emission level of just 119 g/km.
