AT&T and Williams F1 Hold Golf Challenge for Charity
Posted on Thursday 14 Jul 2011
After a great day of golfing at Brocket Hall Golf Club, Williams F1 are delighted to announce that the inaugural AT&T Williams Golf Challenge event raised over £53,000 for Cancer Research UK and the Spinal Injuries Association.
Rubens Barrichello joined guests of AT&T and Williams F1 for 18 holes in the sunshine last week, in a light warm up for the weekend’s British Grand Prix and all in the name of a good cause as both companies sought to support their nominated charities. Guests enjoyed a team breakfast before they teed off to compete for an expenses paid trip to play in the Sportingclass Industry Invitational Final in Arizona this October.
The Club’s Championship course showcased a huge variety of historic and current Williams F1 imagery and cars; this year’s FW33 adorned the first tee and another three historic cars decorated the entrance to Brocket Hall - including Nigel Mansell’s FW14B which led him to the Drivers’ Championship in 1992.
There was also a host of golf-related fund-raising activities throughout the day including a charity auction and raffle featuring ‘money can’t buy’ prizes donated by both AT&T and the Team.
AT&T and Williams F1 would like to thank everyone involved in making the day such a great success and for their incredible generosity in helping the day reach such an impressive total.
