FDA - Marciello and Malsano end the F3 season on the podium

Maranello, 16 October – The forty sixth Italian Formula 3 championship came to an end today with both Ferrari Driver Academy students on the podium. In the second leg, held this morning at Monza, Raffaele Marciello (Prema) started from third on the grid, quickly going into the lead thanks to an excellent move off the line. At the flag, he was second behind Victor Guerin (Lucidi Motorsport) who took his first victory of the season. Brandon Maisano (BVM Target) staged a thrilling climb up the order to make it to the third step of the podium, after an attacking race, featuring a spectacular passing move on Edoardo Liberati (Team Ghinzani) who came home fourth. The final classification of the Italian Formula 3 championship saw Sergio Campana (BVM Target) crowned champion with 153 points ahead of California’s Michael Lewis (136) who also takes win the National Rookie Trophy. Raffaele Marciello finishes in the bronze medal position on 123 points, five more than fellow academy student, Brandon Maisano, fourth with 118 points.
