DISAPPOINTING, BUT WE CAN STILL SCORE

Uttar Pradesh, India: Saturday, October 29, 2011

Paul will start the inaugural Indian Grand Prix from 12th on the grid at the new Buddh International Circuit near Delhi. Driving his Sahara Force India VJM04, Paul clocked a fastest time of 1min 26.503secs. Afterwards he gave his thoughts on the qualifying session, and tomorrow's race:

"I'm a bit disappointed really to be starting 12th. This morning was quite good, but I just struggled with a bit of understeer on the high speed corners this afternoon and we couldn't really fix it during that session.

"I think conditions actually cooled a little, which also didn't help us because I couldn’t get the balance quite where I wanted it.

"We're good shape though over the long distances, but I think qualifying was going to be quite crucial and unfortunately we didn't quite maximise it.

"I don't think the track has evolved as much today as we perhaps thought it would. Yesterday there was a big evolution, but we haven't seen much today.

"I feel points are still achievable tomorrow and we seem quite strong on the longer runs. There’s a hard task ahead, but I will stay focussed and try to do the best job possible in the team’s home race.”
