The engine range starts with a 3.4 liter boxer unit that develops 350 hp. Meanwhile, the Porsche 911 Carrera S version comes with a 3.8 liter boxer engine and 400 hp. Both engines provide greater performance than the units they replace.
The 3.4 liter version is 0.1 seconds faster from 0 to 100 km/h (0-60 mph) than its predecessor, needing only 4.6 seconds while being equipped with a PDK transmission. If Porsche 911 Carrera is equipped with the Sport Chrono package and the driver goes in the Sport Plus mode, the model needs only 4.4 seconds to sprint the 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph).
Porsche 911 Carrera S version needs only 4.3 seconds to accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) with a PDK transmission, which means that it is 0.2 seconds faster than its predecessor. The Sport Plus mode brings an acceleration for 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) of 4.1 seconds.
Fuel consumption decreased by 16% for the entire range. Moreover, CO2 emissions have been significantly reduced, the 3.4-liter engine from Porsche 911 Carrera was the first model that emits less than 200 grams of CO2 per kilometer. The emissions were reduced through the provision of a start/stop system, a management system of the engine temperature, system recovery and electricity conservation, the first seven-speed manual transmission in the world and a special feature of the PDK which allows the efficient rolling when the driver releases the accelerator pedal.
