Fernando Alonso reckons Red Bull should practice what they preach and allow their drivers to race each other until the chequered flag at the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi.

Alonso currently leads the championship by eight points from Mark Webber, meaning a second place finish will secure him the title. However, if Sebastian Vettel, who won in Brazil, leads Webber over the line, then Alonso only needs a fourth place finish.

Alonso's title campaign was aided by his team-mate earlier in the year, when Felipe Massa moved over and handed him the victory at the German Grand Prix. But he sees the Red Bull situation in a different light.

"Red Bull has spent three months preaching about equality, so now they should continue with the same philosophy," he told El Pais.

The Ferrari driver said that his objective in Abu Dhabi was clear and he is 100% confident he can achieve it.

"I just need to finish second," he said. "It doesn't matter who wins in Abu Dhabi if I finish second. So the main goal for us is to be on pole on Saturday and to win the race on Sunday. If we cannot do that, because we are not quick enough, we try to be second. With that, the problem is finished."

Alonso's Ferrari was outpaced by the Red Bulls at this weekend's Brazilian Grand Prix, but he is confident he will be competitive in Abu Dhabi.

"I think here [in Brazil], with a better qualifying yesterday, or a dry qualifying maybe we could have overtaken a Red Bull at the start because we did a very good start and then the race changed from there," he said. "We will see if we can be in front of them in Abu Dhabi on Saturday. If not, probably the start will be our next opportunity and then we see. As I said before, if I'm fifth and Sebastian wins, I think Sebastian is world champion. So it's not so clear for them either, which one can win the race."
