Webber and I 'will probably never be friends' - Vettel

Sebastian Vettel has said he will never be friends with team-mate Mark Webber after the row within Red Bull this season.

Their frosty relationship surfaced earlier this year when the pair collided at the Turkish Grand Prix, and reached new levels in Sao Paulo on Thursday when Webber said he felt the team favoured Vettel. The animosity has lead to rumours that Webber might leave the team in 2011 and Vettel has now said he can never be close to the Australian.

"Quite a few things have happened this season," he told Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung newspaper. "Let's put it this way: we will probably never be friends."

In 2007 Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso clashed at McLaren, but Hamilton has now admitted he is no longer at odds with the Spaniard.

"I'm happy with the way I have things now but I would have no problems having him as a team-mate," Hamilton said. "When he comes to Zurich he texts me every now and then to meet up."

Hamilton also rubbished suggestions that Alonso's title campaign has been tainted by the team orders affair, insisting the Ferrari driver would "deserve to walk in the company of the great names of the past.

He told the Mirror: "You are going to be very hard put to find someone beat him on raw talent."
