Sunrise eyes new merger talks with Orange: paper

(Reuters) - Swiss mobile phone operator Sunrise could enter into new merger talks with France Telecom's Orange unit, Sunrise chairman Dominik Koechlin was quoted as saying in an interview in a Swiss newspaper due to be published on Wednesday.
"I believe new merger talks between Orange and Sunrise can't be ruled out," Koechlin said in a version of the interview released by Handelszeitung a day ahead of publication.
Danish telecoms operator TDC tried to sell Sunrise to Orange but this was blocked by the Swiss regulator in April.
Koechlin was also quoted as saying there could be a re-think at the Swiss competition watchdog.
Switzerland's competition commission last month approved TDC's sale of Sunrise to private equity investment group CVC Capital Partners.
