Ferrari: Red Bull don't behave like Champs

Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo has chastised Red Bull for their lack of respect in the wake of Helmut Marko's "stupid" comments.

Marko, a Red Bull advisor, recently stated that he believes reigning World Champion Sebastian Vettel would be "stupid" to forsake Red Bull "just for the Ferrari legend", adding that he feels "Ferrari want to poach our team spirit."

Di Montezemolo, though, says Marko's comments aren't even worth responding to as the Bulls have yet to earn the right to speak freely.

"I see with pleasure that someone has won a World Championship and maybe he isn't yet used to win, as far as his behaviour is concerned," said the Ferrari President.

"But this is part of the game, it's okay. Maybe when someone has won 10 percent of what Ferrari has won, we'll reply. For now we look ahead calmly: may the best win."

The Italian has urged his team to make a flying start to this year's Championship, saying that while many blame Abu Dhabi for the Scuderia losing in 2010, he believes they lost the crown in the opening half of the campaign.

"We must make a good start, both in terms of reliability and, above all, on the performance front. Last year, we lost the Championship in a first half that found us failing to live up to our expectations.

"I think this will be a very interesting Championship: there are a few question marks regarding the new rules and therefore we will have to wait and see how competitive are our rivals."

As for Fernando Alonso's claims that former Ferrari driver Michael Schumacher could be his "most dangerous" threat this season, di Montezemolo insists it is far too early to say who will be challenging at the front.

"I think we must wait for the first few races, but these tales are good for the media and the fans," he said.

"Alonso says Michael, Felipe (Massa) says (Lewis) Hamilton, maybe Michael will favour Vettel, so there's nothing new under the sun!

"But, Michael is still close to my heart and part of Ferrari's history and I have no doubt he is still a fantastic driver. His team-mate out-paced him last year? So, sure, there's also (Nico) Rosberg.

"In fact, I expect three teams, maybe even four to be fighting it out at the top in 2011. Of the new generation of drivers, he is in there as indeed is Vettel. But the hierarchy will be established on the stopwatch.

"Having said that, one problem we don't have is on the driver front: I know who is the best in the world, but I'm not saying..."
