Di Montezemolo: Nothing going on with Vettel
Ferrari President Luca di Montezemolo insists there is "absolutely" nothing behind reports that Ferrari are keen to sign Sebastian Vettel.
Last month, di Montezemolo sparked rumours of Vettel's pending signing when he said that the 2010 World Champion is "fast, smart and young", adding that "sooner or later he will be driving a red car."
Vettel then added fuel to the fire by stating that "Ferrari is a myth, just like Mercedes, and every driver wants to race for a myth once in his career."
However, the German insists he is happy at Red Bull Racing "because Red Bull give me the fastest car."
The duo's comments raised eyebrows with reports suggesting that the reigning World Champ could head to Ferrari as early as next season, replacing Felipe Massa.
Di Montezemolo, though, has downplayed the rumours.
"There is absolutely nothing going on with Vettel, apart from the congratulations for a wonderful season and the fact that he knew how to benefit from the last race in Abu Dhabi," he said.
In fact, the Ferrari President would like to see the Scuderia's next driver come from the Ferrari Driver Academy
"I hope that he will come from the Ferrari Driver Academy, because that would mean that he's a 'top star.'
"Naturally Ferrari puts a driver in the car able to win. One of the ideas of the Academy is to have the next Scuderia driver in-house."
