Our ZDX is now well into the third of its four seasons with us, and our baby is aging quite a bit faster than we expected. Not on the outside, mind you -- seeing another ZDX on the road is a rare occurrence -- but in the snug cabin, particularly the supple leather upholstery and some of the plastics.

Noting the worn leather, assistant editor David Zenlea posits that "perhaps there's a reason other cars don't have such soft hides." For his part, web producer Evan McCausland regrets that we didn't choose another color: "the saddle two-tone scheme Acura offers is absolutely beautiful, and it makes our car's taupe-on-grey-on-black cabin appear to have all the charisma of a dentist's smock."

But he is having fun behind the wheel. "I'm increasingly enjoying the ZDX, particularly as the temperatures and the snow fall. The ZDX behaves much like a sport sedan, with sharp steering and taut body motions. I'm not entirely certain how this niche idea evolved into a viable business case, but hey; if Cadillac can build a Corvette-powered station wagon, I suppose anything is possible."

True, but Evan, who said the ZDX's business case is viable? After three quarters of a year, it seems we're still left scratching our head about this Acura's purpose. And the lack of ZDX sightings on the road makes us suspect that others are, too.
