Geneva 2011: Porsche Panamera S Hybrid

Porsche introduced the first official pictures and information for the Porsche Panamera S Hybrid that will be presented next month at the Geneva Motor Show 2011. The model has an mixed medium consumption of just 6.8 litres/100 km.


Porsche officially announced the emergence of the second hybrid from the series model range of the German manufacturer. After presenting one year ago the new Cayenne S Hybrid, model launched for balancing the CO2 emissions of its range, Porsche is now presenting the hybrid version for Panamera, which will be officially unveiled on March 1st at the Geneva 2011.

Porsche Panamera S Hybrid receive the same drive train that we saw on the Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg Hybrid (380 bhp and 580 Nm), allowing to the German model to achieve a very good fuel consumption for a model of this class. We’re talking about 6.8 litres/100 km, while the CO2 emissions are limited to 159 grams/km. Evolution from Panamera S (400 horsepower V8) is huge, the gasoline model showing a consumption of 12.5 liters and CO2 emission of 247 grams/kilometer.






Although consumption has fallen by nearly half, Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is not all bad in the performance chapter. Thus, if the V8 version goes to 100km/h in 5.6 seconds, the hybrid version of succeeds same in 6.0 seconds.

The propulsion system of Porsche Panamera S Hybrid consists from a 3.0-liter V6 turbo 333 horsepower and is helped by a part of an automatic gearbox with eight reports, and on the other hand, by an electric motor of 47 horsepower. According to data provided by the Stuttgart manufacturer, the electric motor (powered by a nickel-metal-hydride battery) can reach to a speed of 85 km/h and a maximum distance of 2 kilometers.

The German price announced for Porsche Panamera S Hybrid is EUR 107,794 (£90,794 – $147,505).
