Massa fastest on first day of Jerez testing

First day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and ten other Formula 1 teams, working from today until Sunday at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in southern Spain.

Felipe Massa was at the wheel of the F150th Italia. The Brazilian driver’s programme focussed on finding the best set-up for the car, on increasing understanding of the Pirelli tyres’ behaviour, aerodynamic testing and starts. Despite endless red flags which were especially prevalent this afternoon, Felipe was able to complete the planned programme, with any technical problems affecting the car. He completed a total of 101 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.709, the fastest overall on the day.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa on track.

Prima giornata di prove della Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro e di altre dieci squadre di Formula 1 impegnate da oggi fino a domenica sul tracciato di Jerez de la Frontera, nel Sud della Spagna.

Alla guida della F150th Italia c’era Felipe Massa. Il programma del pilota brasiliano era incentrato sulla ricerca del miglior assetto della vettura, sull’approfondimento del comportamento delle gomme Pirelli e su prove di aerodinamica e di partenza. Nonostante le ripetute bandiere rosse che hanno caratterizzato in particolare il pomeriggio, Felipe ha potuto completare il programma previsto senza che si registrassero problemi tecnici sulla vettura. In totale i giri percorsi sono stati 101, il più veloce nel tempo di 1.20.709, il migliore della giornata.

Le prove su questo circuito proseguiranno anche domani, sempre con Felipe Massa in pista.
