Alonso goes quickest on day two in Valencia

Fernando Alonso secured the quickest lap on day two of pre-season testing in Valencia. The Spaniard was closely followed by Sebastian Vettel, who had been the fastest on day one.

The current champion handed the car over to Mark Webber for the afternoon's running, but the Australian only completed 16 laps in his first outing in the RB7.

Paul di Resta slotted into third in the 2010 Force India, ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Robert Kubica.

Hispania newcomer Narain Karthikeyan jumped into sixth, managing to outpace Nico Rosberg in the 2011 Mercedes.

Team Lotus had their first on-track action with Heikki Kovalainen behind the wheel, although he finished bottom with a 1:20.649, only completing 15 laps due to a power steering issue.
