GEOX GIVES RED BULL RACING A HOLE LOT OF SOLE
We’ve teamed up with Italian footwear suppliers Geox to shoe our drivers and team this year.
The official announcement of the partnership was made at a press conference in Valencia yesterday, but the more observant will have seen the drivers’ boots and the give-away logo on our overalls and kit at the Valencia test.
Why Geox? Well in F1, the overheating of cars, stress and physical tension can cause heavy perspiration, resulting in discomfort for drivers and the technical staff. For this reason, the team has worked with the only Italian company that made breathable footwear its core business.
Geox’ shoes allow maximum breathability and comfort in stressful conditions and at high temperatures. The secret is in the sole: it is made of a special Geox membrane which is breathable and waterproof at the same time, allowing humidity to escape as well as stopping it from entering the shoe.
Geox is a technical partner for 2011 which means our common goal is to find winning solutions to improve human life in extreme conditions, such as on the track during racing, as well as everyday life.
In March Geox is launching a range of men’s, women’s and children’s shoes which echo the team kit style.
