Foreigners looking to buy a practical souvenir should consider Thai fisherman’s pants.
They are cotton trousers made very wide at the waist area. The extra material is wrapped around the waist and tied to form a belt.
Like the name suggests, the pants are worn by fishermen; however, they have become popular among Thais for casual wear at home. Traditional Thai massage spas also provide these pants for customers to wear during a massage session.
