918 Spyder is the most expensive Porsche ever

Porsche has officially announced that the 918 Spyder prototype, presented in world premiere at the Geneva Motor Show 2010, will enter mass production. But Porsche will produce only 918 copies of its hybrid ultra sporty model, each of which will cost 645.000 euro to without VAT, thus making Porsche 918 Spyder the most expensive model in Porsche‘s history.


Porsche 918 Spyder will have two seats and a propulsion system consisting of a 500-hp V8 engine accompanied by two electrical units (one on each axis) which together can develop 218 hp. Supplying batteries for the German model can be loaded from the outlet.






The hybrid system is unprecedented in the auto industry series. Thus, although average joint consumption will be only 3.0 litres/100 km, it has some top performances: 3.2 seconds for 0-100 km/h, maximum speed 320 km/h. In electric-only regime, the new Porsche 918 Spyder can run on a range of 25 kilometers, and will have the maximum speed reached at 150 kilometers per hour.

The procedure in which Porsche will deliver to customers the new supercar is its “first come, first served”, orders for 918 Spyder beeing open from today. However, because mass production of the most expensive model from Porsche‘s history will not commence until 18 September 2013, German manufacturer customers enabling them to invest 625,000 euro in their new model until then to purchase the special edition 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder”. It will also be produced in 918 copies, each of which will be on the board serial number that the future 918 Spyder will have and will land in the new keeper of the court from 2013 to 2014. A 911 Turbo S “Edition 918 Spyder” costs 173,241 euro in Germany.

Porsche wants to ensure that all copies of the 918 Spyder that will produce will find a customer. As for its dealers who already sent a letter explaining how the orders will be taken. The hybrid supercar of 645,000 euro, will be paid in full before delivery. But it can take possession of the car, the owner will have to undergo several stages.
