Geneva 2011 Live: Maserati GranCabrio Sport – speeding never looked so good

Maserati has a new novelty at Geneva Motor Show 2011 - it’s GranCabrio the sports version. Maserati GranCabrio Sport comes with improved performance, but with a better fuel consumption.

The Maserati stand at Geneva 2011 hosted the official launch of the most powerful convertible model ever developed by the Italian brand. It’s the new Maserati GranCabrio Sport and it gets an extra 10 horsepower and 20 Nm, the 4.7-liter V8 engine developing now 450 hp and 510 Nm. GranCabrio Sport benefits from the contribution of MC-Auto Shift automatic transmission, which debuted last year on the Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT-S. With it, Maserati GranCabrio Sport manages to reach a maximum speed of 285 km/h, while the average mixed fuel consumption announced by the producer decreases by 6%.

Maserati GranCabrio Sport brings some aesthetic changes to the classic design version of the Italian sports car. We talk of the new aerodynamic appendix and ornaments that were previously chromed and now become black.

The new Maserati GranCabrio Sport will be available starting this summer on the markets, the model’s prices are not known at this time.
