Geneva 2011 Live: Jaguar and Land Rover – Legacy

Jaguar and Land Rover have introduced several novelties at Geneva Motor Show 2011. While Jaguar has come up with the most powerful car in its history, the Jaguar XKR-S, Land Rover has launched a hybrid, alongside with the most expensive Range Rover model in the range.


The British concern Jaguar Land Rover stand at Geneva 2011, presented a series of novelties. Just because they have been bought by Tata Motors didn’t let the British to forget their heritage and celebrated 50 years since the release of Jaguar E-Type. What better way to celebrate this anniversary than a modern successor to the XK-E, the one and only Jaguar XKR-S. For Jaguar that is the most powerful supercar in history, but not the fastest ever made.






Jaguar XKR-S is equipped with a 5.0 liter V8 engine offering 550 hp and 680 Nm. Engine enables XKR-S coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and accelerating from 0-160 km/h in just 8.6 seconds. The maximum speed of Jaguar XKR-S is 300 km/h. The XKR-S has a revised suspension and an ESP rescheduled for increased performance.






In contrast, Range Rover came to Geneva with Range_e Hybrid that emits just 89 grams of CO2 per kilometer. That Land Rover Range_e is equipped with a V6 diesel engine mated to a ZF eight-speed transmission. Specifications for the hybrid system of this model is secret, and the model retained all-wheel drive system and can run 32 kilometers to 100% electric mode. Along with the new Range_e, another special model was brought: Range Rover Autobiography – the most expensive model in Range Rover history and Range Rover Evoque, the smallest and cheapest model in the range.
