Thai Airways International (THAI), Thai AirAsia (TAA) and Bangkok Airways were the top three airlines at Suvarnabhumi airport in fiscal 2010 in terms of both passenger and flight numbers.

The three carriers together were responsible for 58.4% of the 42.5 million passengers passing through Thailand's main air hub in the fiscal year ending last Sept 30, Airports of Thailand data show.

The trio also operated a larger chunk of flights through Suvarnabhumi, with their combined take-offs and landings accounting for 58.2% of the 261,782 aircraft movements recorded during the year.

TAA's aggressive expansion in recent years has made the no-frills carrier the second-largest operator at Suvarnabhumi, accounting for 11% of passengers and 14.4% of aircraft movements in fiscal 2010.

Bangkok Airways, branded as "Asia's Boutique Airline", ranked third with 5.36% of passengers and an 11.6% flight tally.

Cathay Pacific was tops among foreign carriers operating through Suvarnabhumi in terms of both passenger numbers and flight count at 3.29% and 2.25%, respectively, and fourth in the overall grading.

Suvarnabhumi registered a 14.7% rise in passenger traffic in fiscal 2010 to 42.5 million - 32.4 million international passengers (up by 15.2%) and 10.1 million domestic (up by 13.1%).
