CBS acquires Web video guide, hires the top exec

(Reuters) - CBS Corp has acquired Clicker Media Inc, a service that creates a guide for TV shows broadcast over the Web, and named the startup's top executive as the new head of CBS Interactive.
Clicker's Jim Lanzone will succeed Neil Ashe in running CBS Interactive, the digital division that includes CNET.com, TV.com, CBS.com, CBSSports.com, CBSNews.com and Gamespot.com. CBS announced late last year that Ashe, who joined in 2008, would be leaving the company.
CBS did not disclose the terms of Friday's deal for Clicker, which provides users with a guide to legal video content across the Web. Clicker launched in 2009.
Before Clicker, Lanzone was chief executive officer of Web search property Ask.com.
