Opel has revealed today the first two images of the Astra Coupe. Opel Astra GTC keeps the already known lines, but comes with more dynamism and fluidity.
The officials from Ruesselsheim submitted the first pictures of the new Opel Astra GTC (Vauxhall Astra GTC), the coupe version of the current generation of Astra. The model will be fully revealed on June 7, 2011, along with technical details of the new body versions of Astra J. Chances are that the drive train and technologies available on this model are taken directly from the Astra hatchback version, as was the case with the Astra Sports Tourer. Public debut of the new Astra GTC will be held on 15 September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
Opel Astra GTC is based on the Opel GTC Paris concept, presented in October 2010 at the Paris Motor Show. Despite the “dramatic” proportions, the model offers five seats, and can be accessed via two doors. Opel promise that the new Astra GTC will incorporate all the best new technologies developed by them, and a chassis with unique characteristics. The rear suspension could also be based on semi-independent axle type Watts, assisted by a series of electrical and mechanical components allowing a change in behavior of the dynamic model by pressing a button.
