FDA - The Ferrari Driver Academy lands across the Pond
Maranello, 4 April – The Ferrari Driver Academy, the programme aimed at young drivers run by the Maranello based Scuderia, continues to expand its sphere of activity and has added another string to its bow. The FDA has now teamed up with the Panam GP Series, an event that ran very successfully over the three years from 2005 to 2007 and which is back on the scene this year. “We are proud to be able to give our patronage to this championship, because we believe that there is a great passion for racing in Mexico, Central America and Latin America and there is plenty of potential to find emerging fresh talent,” explained FDA Director, Luca Baldisserri, when he took part in the launch of the event on 27 March, at Puebla in Mexico. “Our programme is not just aimed at training drivers for Ferrari in the future, but it also wants to promote motor sport all over the world. This is just the first step: in the near future, we will widen the scope of our programme, even taking in the Orient.”
The “Panam GP Series – Supported by FDA” will run from this October to the end of May 2012, with a calendar run over various stages in several countries – from Mexico to Costa Rica, from Argentina to Venezuela – using the Tatuus FA010 cars (Formula Abarth in Europe) powered by the Fiat Power Train. The top three finishers in this first edition of the championship will get the chance to take part in a one week course at Maranello, run by the FDA’s team of engineers.

Maranello, 4 aprile – L’espansione del raggio d’azione della Ferrari Driver Academy, il programma dedicato ai giovani piloti gestito dalla Scuderia di Maranello, si è arricchito nelle scorse settimane di un nuovo tassello. La FDA si è infatti gemellata con la Panam GP Series, una manifestazione che nel triennio 2005-2007 aveva riscosso un grande successo e che fa il suo ritorno sulla scena quest’anno. “Siamo lieti di poter dare il nostro patrocinio a questo campionato perché crediamo che in Messico, in America Centrale e in America Latina ci sia una grande passione per le corse e tutto il potenziale per poter far emergere nuovi talenti” – ha spiegato il Direttore della FDA, Luca Baldisserri, che ha partecipato all’evento di lancio, svoltosi lo scorso 27 marzo a Puebla, in Messico – “Il nostro programma ha non soltanto l’obiettivo di formare il pilota della Ferrari del futuro ma anche quello di promuovere l’automobilismo sportivo in tutto il mondo. Questo è soltanto il primo passo: nel prossimo futuro allargheremo il nostro sguardo anche ad Oriente.”
La “Panam GP Series – Supported by FDA” si svolgerà dal prossimo ottobre fino al maggio 2012, con un calendario articolato su diverse tappe in vari Paesi – dal Messico al Costarica, dall’Argentina al Venezuela – con le vetture Tatuus FA010 (Formula Abarth in Europa) motorizzate dalla Fiat Power Train. I primi tre classificati della prima edizione del campionato avranno la possibilità di fare uno stage di una settimana a Maranello, assistiti dall’equipe di tecnici della FDA.
