Rob Smedley guest speaker for charity

Hungaroring, 30 July – On 2 September, Felipe Massa’s race engineer, Rob Smedley, will be one of the speakers at a special charity evening with a Formula 1 theme, aimed at fund raising for the children’s hospital, “Zoe’s Place.” The event will take place at Beamish Hall Country House Hotel, Stanley, County Durham in the UK. Rob and his wife Lucy lost a baby in 2007 and since then have supported this type of charity. An auction will feature items signed by Felipe Massa and a replica Giancarlo Fisichella helmet. "Zoe's Place Baby Hospice is such a wonderful charity. When I came across the charity, I was quite amazed and moved by the work that they do with their very special babies” said Smedley. "They not only enrich the lives of these poorly children but also give immense support to their families. It really is a beautiful place and the nurses and staff are real life angels who need all the support they can get. This is a very small way of using Formula 1 as a platform to give something back." For further details regarding availability of tickets or on how to provide items for auction, please contact Lucy - lucyesmedley@talk21.com – or Zoe’s Place - Elaine@zoes-place.org.uk.
