Hungarian GP - Qualifying does not live up to expectations
Hungaroring, 30 July – Qualifying did not go as well as had been expected within the Scuderia Ferrari garage. Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso set the fourth and fifth fastest times respectively, which does not reflect the maximum the car had had to give, especially in Q3. It’s not by chance that the best Ferrari time of the session was Fernando’s 1.20.262 which saw him top the times in Q2, after also being fastest in Q1. Given how difficult it is to overtake here, the start will therefore be critical, as is always the case at the Hungaroring. The other key element will naturally be tyre behaviour. Furthermore, once again here, it is clear that it is all very close between the six drivers from the top three teams, all of them lapping in a little bit over 6 tenths of one another.
