FREE PRACTICE 3

The final hour of free practice went off without a hitch for Scuderia Toro Rosso at the twisty Hungaroring this morning, so now we await the first competitive part of the weekend, this afternoon’s qualifying session.

This morning, Jaime was seventeenth fastest, completing 15 laps, while Sébastien was one place behind, having run 19 laps. The sun has appeared today and consequently it is much warmer, however, there is now a strong wind blowing transversely across the track which has some influence on car behaviour. We should not expect too much from Sébastien this afternoon, because our Swiss driver will have a five place penalty in terms of his final grid position, because of the incident with Nick Heidfeld’s Renault at the Nurburgring. This means it is pointless to use up too many sets of tyres in qualifying trying to get a good position on the grid, just to slip back five spots. Sebastian Vettel was fastest in the session for Red Bull Racing, followed by Fernando Alonso in the Ferrari and Jenson Button for McLaren.
