Ferrari makes its mark on the Spa 24 Hours

Maranello, 31 July – This weekend, the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit was the settino for the Spa 24 Hours, the third round of the Blancpain Endurance Series. The historic endurance race runs over a seven kilometre course which winds its way through the Ardennes forest in Belgium and there were over sixty entrants, including no less than seven 458 Italia GT3 cars.

Bobbi and Petrobelli delivered a sensational performance, when along with Kechele, they took fifth overall at the wheel of the Vita4One Ferrari 458 italia GT3, crossino the line ahead of the Sofrev Autosport Promotion Ferrari, crewed by Badey, Morel, Moreau and Beaubelique, sixth overall and alos the top spot in the PAM category.

Equally brilliant was the third spot in the PAM category for the 458 Italia GT3 entered by AF Corse and crewed by Griffin, Gerber, Cioci and Cadei, who finished on the podium at the end of one of the toughest endurance races in the world. The worthy crew also secured the honour of the fastest race lap among all the Ferraris entered, stopping the clocks in 2.21.448.

The other AF Corse car was less fortunate, in the hands of Mallegol, Bachelier and Blanc, as they had to retire on lap 69, after around 3 hours and 40 minutes of racing. Also out at the top of the nineteenth hour, the two other 458 Italia GT3s of Vita4One and Sofrev Autosport Promotion.

The next round of the Blancpain Endurance Series takes place on 27 Augsut at the Magny Cours circuit, this time for a slightly less demanding three hours.
