Bruno Senna will replace Nick Heidfeld for the Belgian Grand Prix this weekend, according to BBC pundit Eddie Jordan.

Having originally been considered as a replacement for the injured Robert Kubica at the start of the year, Senna lost out to Heidfeld as Renault decided his experience would be more beneficial to the development of its innovative R31. After a promising start when Vitaly Petrov was third in Australia and then Heidfeld also finished third in Malaysia, it's been a disappointing season for the team as it has slipped back in to the midfield.

Senna has remained with the team as test driver, and took part in his first Friday practice session of the season at the Hungarian Grand Prix as Renault sought to give him more track time in the car. While the team has yet to comment on Jordan's claims, majority shareholder Gerard Lopez admitted to ESPNF1 in an exclusive interview last week that Heidfeld's performances had not been good enough of late.

"I'm happy with his first part of the season but not totally happy with his leadership and performing within the team," Lopez said. "We brought Nick in because he's a much more experienced driver than Vitaly and he did a very good job with the podium in Malaysia but he has not consistently been what we would want from an experienced driver like him."
