What happened to the 'British' Broadcasting Corporation
Like all F1 fans, I'm deeply disappointed about the BBC's decision to share F1 with Sky instead of another terrestrial TV channel. I understand the financial situation, and I sympathise with their desire for no competition from other terrestrial channels such as ITV & Ch4. However, what the BBC have done, to me, totally contravenes its position as the BRITISH Broadcasting Corporation.
Any British organisation, to whom the entire British nation pay licence fees to even switch on the television to watch their broadcasting, has a responsibility to show any national or international sporting event where British people are competing. The BBC's decision around F1 is just another symptom that they no longer represent those British sporting stars who are trying to keep "Great" in Great Britain. Perhaps they should be stripped of the title "British"?
