FIA to enforce Pirelli camber recommendations

The FIA has informed teams at Monza that they must adhere to Pirelli's recommended camber limits or risk being in breach of regulations. It follows concerns over blistering at the last round in Belgium, where some teams exceeded the official tyre suppliers recommendations.

Camber settings will be checked after qualifying on Saturday and any car found to exceed Pirelli's advised front limit could be excluded from the event on safety grounds under Article 2.3 of the Formula One technical regulations.

Article 2.3 reads: "The stewards of the meeting may exclude a vehicle whose construction is deemed to be dangerous."

Having issued a more conservative camber limit recommendation for Italy - and with the FIA now taking steps to ensure teams stick to it - Pirelli's motorsport director Paul Hembery has said he does not expect any significant blistering issues this weekend.

"Conditions were particularly tough because of the heat at Monza as well as the usual high speeds," he said following Friday practice. "Despite this heavy punishment, the tyres performed well - especially the medium. Wer'e analysing the data, but there appears to be no blistering outside the usual parameters for this circuit."
