SEBASTIAN UNVEILS THE INFINITI FX, VETTEL VERSION

Sep 14, 2011

Sebastian unveiled the Infiniti FX, Vettel version at the Frankfurt Motor Show yesterday.

He received a warm reaction to the launch of the concept car which, as a collaborative project between Infiniti and himself, sees Formula One racing directly influence and inspire the design of a road car.

The Infiniti designers started out by studying Sebastian's RB7 Formula One car, taking particular inspiration from the front wing. They also emulated the RB7's wheels in the alloy design of the Vettel FX's and focused on using shape to modify airflow throughout the design process, in order to keep the project performance oriented.

Infiniti explain the Vettel version of the FX was finished in matt white to exaggerate the stunning contrast this colour creates with the car's carbon parts.

For further insight into the design of the car and its unveiling, check out the video below which sees the nicely proportioned finished product (signed by Vettel and Infiniti's SVP and Chief Creative Officer, Shiro Nakamura), parked side by side with the RB7 here at our factory in Milton keynes.
