Jaime Alguersuari insists he can cope with the pressure of not knowing what 2012 holds while still delivering results on the track for the rest of this year.
His place on the grid next season is not yet certain as Toro Rosso has yet to confirm its driver plans. Red Bull young drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne are both waiting in the wings to join the team should an opportunity arise, meaning the pressure is on Alguersuari and his team-mate Sebastien Buemi to prove themselves at the remaining five races.
"We have not talked about the future or next year's contract," Alguersuari told the EFE news agency at the weekend. "It is very important that the whole team is focused on the rest of this year."
Toro Rosso is currently closing on Sauber for seventh in the constructors' championship and Alguersuari is determined to do his best for the team.
"I know it's going to get harder and harder up to the finale in Sao Paulo but I can live with the pressure, and my morale is intact."
Ricciardo, who is tipped to move to from HRT to Toro Rosso in 2012, added: "All this is rumour."
