ASK THE GP NATION: INDIA

24 OCTOBER 2011

@Arpit_Rathi, @adityakandala and @RajeshKankavlik sum up the mood of how India feels this week: “proud and happy” they say!

India has been waiting a long time for this moment, its first Formula One Grand Prix and finally, it’s only a week away! Excited? We are and we know you are too. We only have to read tweets like @RajeshKankavlik’s, who says “it’s a dream come true” and, although a little early perhaps, he considers it “one of the best F1 tracks in the world”. Or @adityakandala who says he feels “proud, ecstatic, excited, exhilarated. A dream come true!”, while @Arpit_Rathi adds that he feels “great and dazzled”. @DarshanChokhani is also very happy – he won tickets for the Grand Prix via @IndianGPF1 and has been waiting “eagerly” for this week, which he describes as “a dream come true for all Indian fans! It’s emotional too”, he adds. @rocketredf1 and @NitinPathak say they will also be attending the race, so see you there!

So a new race is always an exciting new adventure, but what do you think of the track itself? @IzaakPoole is confident this is a “pretty good track and it’s going to be a good race!” We hope so! Many of you have already got to grips with the track on @Codemasters F1 2011 game: for @fuller737 “the new Buddh circuit is brilliant, beautifully smooth, fast and flowing.” @simplesi3 finds “sector 2 quite flowing”, for @samjcarnall “it could do with more sweeping sections”, while @daantjeehxx considers it her “favourite circuit of the game.”

India is excited but over here in the UK you are too and there’s no way you’re going to miss it! @OzoneVibe is more than ready, as they already have “a big batch of curry ready to watch it on TV” ( made us giggle here) , while @KerryCherries “will be making the trip… To my sofa to watch on TV!” @heyk can’t wait to see “what teams and drivers will adapt the fastest”, while @Andrea_Eyre also wishes she was attending the race because “it’s gonna be awesome! Hope it lives up to the expectations and all the drivers enjoy it!” Not long until we know for ourselves now.

But India is more than just a new F1 track. If not ask @RajivF1 – he says nobody can miss “the world wonder ‘Taj Mahal’ and we have to try ‘dum Biriyani’ in Delhi”. Oh, we will. See you in India!

So it looks like another thrilling Grand Prix weekend and an exciting new adventure! Now we just have to wait for the cars to go out on track for the first time, and enjoy what we hope will be another positive race for us. Sit back and enjoy! Even though if it was up to @TheCrazyCaptain, he would “change the setting options” and make it easy to win. This is real life though, sadly, it’s not that easy!
