Vettel returns to hero’s welcome in Milton Keynes
Sebastian Vettel visited Red Bull Racing’s UK factory in Milton Keynes on Wednesday for the first time since securing his second Formula One drivers’ championship in Japan earlier this month.
For Red Bull, it was a chance for a double celebration, the team having also successfully defended their constructors’ title in Korea last Sunday to take the championship for a second time.
Arriving at the factory in the morning, Vettel took part in a press conference, along with team principal Christian Horner and chief technical officer Adrian Newey. Vettel’s team mate Mark Webber was unable to attend due to a prior sponsor commitment in Sydney, Australia, but sent a video message of congratulations; he will be back in the factory after the Indian Grand Prix.
Following the press conference, Vettel attended a factory celebration for all the staff of Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Technology (525 people), along with Horner and Newey. The event was hosted by former Red Bull Racing driver David Coulthard.
Vettel greeted staff and enjoyed a moment to reflect on what he and the team have achieved. It was also revealed that he and Red Bull are due to put on a Formula One display run in Milton Keynes on December 10.
