2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible Info
2012 Jaguar XKR-S Convertible adopts the same 5.0-liter V8 engine, with two Roots compressors and two intercoolers and develops a total of 550 horsepower and a torque of 680 Nm.
The resources are channeled to the rear axle through an active differential and can accelerate the supercar from 0 to 60 mph (0-100 km/h) in just 4.2 seconds. The performance of Jaguar XKR-S Convertible is impressive, given that it weighs no less than 4145 lbs (1880 kilograms).
Capable of a torsional rigidity of 16,500 Nm/degree, Jaguar XKR-S Convertible could take the suspensions from the coupe and adopts a set of something more sporty shock absorbers. The rear suspension geometry and the steering were revised.
Mike Cross, responsible for the integrity of the new model and chassis development, said: “Because XK was designed to be a convertible from the start, its structural rigidity is very high. This allowed us to adopt the sporty suspension settings from the coupe to create a convertible without compromise.”
