Vitaly Petrov: “I’d love a repeat of that podium feeling again”

24/11/2011

The season-ender in Interlagos is upon us; at the season-opener in Australia you secured a podium - does that feel like a long time ago?
VP: It does, yes. It was a great feeling, one I would really love to experience again. It’s a shame that I haven’t had a repeat of that since but time goes on. We need to look to the future and the last race in Brazil.

Looking to the last race in Brazil - is confidence an issue after the difficulties in Abu Dhabi?
VP: I’m always confident, but you are never sure how the car will behave at each track. Abu Dhabi was a very, very frustrating weekend for us but here we have a chance to get into Q3 and score some points so we will be doing our utmost.

How familiar are you with this track?
VP: It’s a classic track. There’s quite a few unusual corners here, what with the camber and so on; you have to get it absolutely right to do well here. The weather is also quite unpredictable here; it’s always raining or can be dry so that is always an interesting aspect. We will see how we get on.
