Checo Pérez qualifies 11th for the Abu Dhabi GP

Sergio “Checo” Pérez, Sauber F1 Team driver qualified 11th for tomorrow’s Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi, sixth row of the penultimate round of the F1 World Championship 21011.
“Checo” came out to track in an excellent attitude to face Q1, registering his best time around the 5.554 kilometers track in a 1m41.311s, the ninth best and passing to Q2 and registering the 322 km/h speed trap.
In Q2 Checo’s starting time was 1m40.874s, however could not finish in the top ten to pass to Q3, positioning 11th, place from where he will start tomorrow’s 18th round of the F1 World Championship 2011.
“We have done a good job today, we got a better result than what we had expected. I’m happy with the qualifying session, It wasn’t easy trying to find the ideal temperature for the tires but tomorrow we’re out there looking for the points zone and also to finish before Toro Rosso” commented “Checo” Pérez.

Sergio “Checo” Pérez, el piloto mexicano de Sauber F1 Team, calificó decimoprimero para, largar el Gran Premio de Abu Dhabi en la sexta fila, en lo que es la penúltima fecha del Campeonato del Mundo de F1 2011.
“Checo” salió a la pista del Yas Marina Circuit con una excelente actitud para enfrentar la Q1, logrando su mejor tiempo en 1m41.311s a la pista de 5.554 kilómetros de longitud, consiguiendo la novena posición y logrando su pase a la Q2, no sin antes marcar en el speed trap los 322 km/h.
En la Q2, “Checo” realizó su vuelta lanzada en tiempo de 1m40.874, sin embargo no le alcanzaría para llegar al top-ten y pasar a la Q3, de modo que el piloto mexicano se clasificaba finalmente en el lugar 11, desde donde tomará mañana la salida de esta fecha 18 del Campeonato del Mundo de F1 del presente año.
“Hoy hemos hecho un buen trabajo y hemos obtenido un resultado mejor del esperado. Estoy contento con la calificación, no ha sido fácil sobre todo cuando se trató de encontrar la temperatura ideal de los neumáticos, pero bueno, mañana saldremos a buscar la zona de los puntos, pensando en que la estrategia será muy importante. Buscaremos estar delante de los Toro Rosso”, dijo “Checo” Pérez.
