Official: First image of the Mercedes MGP-W02
The Mercedes team have officially released a digital-rendering of their 2011 car, the MGP-W02, which will debut on-track this Tuesday.
The photo reveals a much wider and higher-nose, similar to that of the Ferrari F150 launched earlier this week.
According to Mercedes motor-sport vice-president Norbert Haug, it will also feature a much shinier silver paint, unlike 2010's dull grey.
"The arrow has a new shiny silver paint, which really illumates the beautiful shapes of the car," Haug told Bild.de.
"Our goal is to look sharp and compete at the absolute top," he added.
Ross Brawn revealed that a much riskier and aggressive approach has been taken by the outfits engineers on the new car.
"Last year I had to reject some interesting suggestions from my engineers. The new car is different. Now we are much better organised.
"The guys at Mercedes have done a very good job, I am very satisfied. We decided early last season to build the new car. We knew quickly what was wrong during 2010 and have improved all these things significantly."
