Massa pleased with first day of testing
Jerez de la Frontera, 10 February – Felipe Massa was pleased with what had been achieved as he stepped from the cockpit of his F150th Italia at the end of a busy day’s testing at the Andalusian circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. The Brazilian was able to do a lot of running, without the car experiencing any technical failures. Slowing the progress of the programme however were interruptions caused by cars stopping out on track, especially in the afternoon.
The time Felipe set in the morning of 1.20.709 proved to be unbeatable, even in the second part of the day, when the track was clearly slower. It meant he ended the day not just with the prize for the most laps – 101 completed, but also the best performance on the clock. “I am pleased with today,” said Felipe, speaking to ferrari.com. “I was able to run continuously, without losing any valuable time. All those kilometres helped me get to know the car better and especially the tyres, an area where we were able to try different things to those we did in Valencia. The fastest time? It doesn’t mean anything, because we don’t know what trim the other drivers were running.” Today, Felipe’s car, along with all the others, carried a message of support for Robert Kubica. “I am glad Robert is getting better: it was nice that we all had a note for him on our cars and again I wish all the very best.”
Massa soddisfatto dopo il primo giorno di prove
Jerez de la Frontera, 10 febbraio – E’ un Felipe Massa soddisfatto quello sceso dalla sua F150 th Italia al termine di un’intensa giornata di prove sul circuito andaluso di Jerez de la Frontera. Il pilota brasiliano ha potuto girare a lungo, senza che la monoposto soffrisse di alcuna defaillance tecnica. Ad ostacolare lo svolgimento del programma ci sono state soltanto alcune interruzioni dovute a delle vetture ferme in pista, soprattutto nel pomeriggio. Il tempo di 1.20.709 ottenuto in mattinata è rimasto inavvicinabile per tutti nella seconda parte della giornata, quando la pista era chiaramente più lenta: così Felipe ha potuto chiudere il test aggiungendo al primato dei chilometri percorsi (101 i giri totali completati) anche quello del responso cronometrico.
“Sono contento di questa giornata” – ha detto Felipe a ferrari.com – “Ho potuto girare con continuità, senza perdere tempo prezioso. Tutti questi chilometri mi hanno aiutato ad approfondire la conoscenza della macchina e, soprattutto, delle gomme: qui abbiamo potuto provare anche qualcosa di diverso su questo fronte rispetto a Valencia. Il miglior tempo? Non significa nulla, perché non sappiamo in quali condizioni abbiano girato gli altri piloti.”
Sulla monoposto di Felipe, così come sulle altre macchine in pista oggi, c’era un messaggio di auguri per Robert Kubica: “Sono contento che Robert stia migliorando: è stato bello che tutti oggi avessimo sulla macchina un pensiero per lui e gli faccio ancora tantissimi auguri.”
