RED BULL KART FIGHT FINAL 2011

on Aug 16, 2011

Daniel Ricciardo adopted the persona of Team Coach on Sunday to inspire and mentor young karting talent at the Red Bull Kart Fight Final at Circuit Park, Zandvoort.

Throughout July, along with the help of racing driver Robert Doornbos, Red Bull searched the four corners of the Netherlands to find the fastest karting talent. The fastest in each age category – 14 and under and 15+ qualified for Sunday’s finale at Circuit Park, where Daniel was on hand to offer the young hopefuls tips and tricks on winning the race.

Having come through the ranks of the Red Bull Junior scheme himself and as a former winner of the British Formula Three Championship, Daniel was more than qualified for his new-found role as tutor (and inspirer).

Sunday saw him engage in pre-race preparation, answering the finalists’ last-minute karting questions and issuing each of them with their very own pair of racing overalls. Post-race he attended a press conference and awarded trophies to the pole winners of the Formula Three Championship, which was also taking place at Circuit Park on Sunday.

Fear not though, Daniel still found time to resume his regular role as racing driver, wowing the crowds with donut spins of the Red Bull NASCAR before throwing Red Bull Racing hats into the crowd, capping things off nicely.
