There are lots of happy faces at AT&T Williams today following Rubens Barrichello’s team party last night. He took everyone karting – even joining in the fun himself – and then took everyone to a celebrated churrascaria for dinner. One of our bodywork technicians, Scott Williams, won the race convincingly and he went home with one of Rubens’ helmets as a prize. Top night, thanks Rubinho!
Rubens wasn’t the only driver in party mode last night. Jenson Button took the British press out to dinner to thank them for their support during the year. They sat on the adjacent table in Fogo de Chao to Ross Brawn, who was celebrating his 57th birthday with Michael Schumacher. Lots of caipirinhas all round (allegedly)!
As upgrades go, it doesn’t get much better than this: BBC 5 Live’s Natalie Pinkham bounced her way from the back row of economy to First Class on her British Airways flight from London Heathrow to Sao Paulo last night. She couldn’t explain how she managed it, but could it have something to do with her and boyfriend Owain being in the current issue of Hello! magazine?
While on the subject of flights, there were a few raised eyebrows on Tuesday night’s BA flight from London to Sao Paulo. The captain was Paul Bonhomme, one of Red Bull’s air race pilots. Prior to take-off he predicted some turbulence over the Atlantic, or was he just going to enjoy himself at the controls?
