Sergio “Checo” Pérez disappointed after having to retire from the Belgian GP

Sunday, 28 de August de 2011

Sergio “Checo” Pérez was disappointed and upset after having to retire from the Belgian GP due to problems caused by one of the rims in his car after a contact with the swiss driver Sebastien Buemi.

All the enthusiasm of having got to the third qualifying session and positioning ninth for the race was shuttered down in lap 27 when he went into boxes and didn’t come back to the race.

“I was seventh in lap 5 when Sebatien Buemi changed direction moving before me, I tried to avoid the contact but unfortunately couldn’t manage to do so and lost power. After overtaking Senna I lost control of my rear end, didn’t know what was going on, then I was told it had been one of the rims. It was a shame.” He explained.

The driver had done an excellent job and had possibilities of adding points despite the sanction that sent him back to the 18th position; however, he mentioned not deserving the sanction because he was the one affected, it had not been his fault.

“It was an unjust sanction because Buemi moved twice, which is forbidden, and it was told in a prior meeting, it can’t be done.” Mentioned the F1 Sauber Team driver, who after Germany and Hungary hasn’t added points again.

He will race again next September 11 during the 13th round of the F1 calendar in Monza, Italy.
