The second generation of BMW 1 Series doesn’t give up the shapes which confirmed it. And BMW haven’t abandoned the rear-wheel drive so that the 1 Series remains the only compact car with rear-wheel drive. This contributes to the sporty character on which BMW prides itself, but for the new BMW 1 Series the Bavarians have chosen the path of economy and efficiency. Thus, the six-cylinder engines are no longer in range. All engines available on BMW 1 Series are now using TwinPower Turbo technology and 116i is the entry level. They are using a 1.6-liter engine that develops 136 horsepower. In the diesel engine section, 116d is the most economical. It is a two-liter engine that develops 116 horsepower.
