LA Auto Show 2011 Live: Subaru BRZ STI Concept
Subaru BRZ STI concept debuted at LA Auto Show 2011. Subaru published on the internet the first images of the model, along with related technical information before the official presentation.
Subaru BRZ STI is one of the highly anticipated concepts of the LA Auto Show 2011. As you may know, we are talking about a model developed in Subaru-Toyotapartnership. The mechanical part was provided by Subaru, including the engines, and Toyota came up with a series of optimizations, such as direct injection system. Each brand has its own customized version of the rear-wheel drive coupe, but both have kept the boxer architecture, displacement, transmission and suspension format.

As expected, there is a strong similarity between the Subaru BRZ STI and Toyota FT-86 II. The people from Subaru have kept their word and gave to its own version a more sporty look through the aesthetic kit.
Subaru BRZ STI concept is presented at LA Auto Show 2011 with 18-inch alloy wheels and painted in WR Blue Pearl II. The suspension has been optimized by STI and the braking system is made ??by Brembo. To reduce the total mass, the concept presents a carbon fiber roof and the handling is improved thanks to the rigid and light bodywork with a low center of gravity and impressive balance.
The BRZ name comes from joining “Boxer”, “Rear-wheel drive” and “Zenith”. The series version could be called Subaru BRZ STI, while other rumors announce a performance version of this model, equipped with a turbocharged version of the 2.0-liter boxer engine. Like its colleague from Toyota, the model will be offered either with a six-speed manual transmission or with a six-speed automatic transmission.
